London Stages, Global Festivals & Fringe News from Gag HQ

We’re kicking off May with news of shows lighting up London, artists heading across the globe to Sydney and New Zealand, and our Edinburgh Festival Fringe line-up being officially announced! With tours getting underway too, it’s shaping up to be a brilliant (and busy) month ahead.

What’s been happening?

Jessie Nixon and James Barr are still coming down from the high, after amazing runs in London’s Soho Theatre! With brilliant audience responses across the board (including a sold-out show for James!) it’s been a standout moment for both, and a fantastic run on one of London’s most iconic comedy stages. Make sure to catch James on tour later this year, with tickets already live.

Kate Butch’s new tour, Choose Your Own Cabaret, has been in full swing and entertaining crowds across the country. Serving up high-energy, hilarious nights at every stop, this is a show not to be missed. Tickets for every venue can be found here.

Rosco McClelland has been performing as part of the Sydney Comedy Festival, with audiences responding brilliantly to his sharp, high-energy sets. Next up, he’s heading to the New Zealand International Comedy Festival, where he’ll continue to bring his distinctive style to new audiences across the country.

Patrick Monahan and Jonny Awsum have been taking their comedy around the globe! Patrick played Mallorca before heading back to the UK, while Jonny packed in shows across Egypt and Cyprus in just two weeks. A whirlwind run of international dates for both, bringing big laughs to audiences far and wide.

Festival Bound ✈️

A busy few weeks ahead as our acts head out across the UK and beyond, bringing their comedy to some of the biggest and best festivals. Check out all our upcoming festivals on our website.

Jessie Nixon, Rosco McClelland and Laser Kiwi are all heading to the New Zealand International Comedy Festival, joining a packed international festival line up across Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington – with both Rosco and Jessie performing in all three galas across the country.

Alex Mitchell and Lost Voice Guy will be performing at Brighton Fringe, bringing their acclaimed live shows to festival audiences on the south coast.

Sooz Kempner is taking her show, Imposter, to the Machynlleth Comedy Festival, returning to one of the UK’s most celebrated alternative comedy weekends. Rosco McClelland and Milo Edwards will also be taking to the stage at Cat Laughs Festival, adding to a strong international presence across the circuit this season.

Wankernomics are also the talk of London, following sold out performances at the London Palladium. The run has been met with fantastic audience response, marking a significant moment for the show at one of the city’s most prestigious venues. If you missed out this time, you can see Wankernomics in November with their brand new show, SHOW_V4.1_FINAL_USETHIS. Tickets are available here.

We’re so excited to announce that our Edinburgh Fringe Festival line-up is now live! We’ll be taking 15 incredibly talented acts up to the festival this year, bringing a brilliant mix of shows to audiences across August. Take a look at the full line-up and find out more here.

Ada Campe recently attended the UK Pantomime awards, claiming Best Supporting Artist! The award recognises outstanding performance in a supporting role across the pantomime season, and reflects Ada’s brilliant work and standout presence on stage throughout the year. It’s a fantastic achievement and very well deserved! You can see some of the action from the evening here.

What’s coming up?

Ben Hart has just announced a brand-new Autumn season at Underbelly Boulevard Soho, London. This special run will showcase Ben’s most celebrated creations to date, bringing together some of his strongest and most talked-about illusions in one unforgettable show. A truly unique, in the round experience of exceptional magic, wonder and bewilderment. Tickets are available here.

News from Gag HQ

Our Production Manager, Ollie, is currently away in Ireland supporting Wankernomics on their final tour show of Just Touching Base. The office has been noticeably quieter in his absence, and we’re already looking forward to having him back soon, hopefully with a Toblerone in hand!

That’s all for now, but make sure to tune in next month for more news from Gag Reflex!
